Platform Guide
How Economic Insight works, how we source our data, and how to get the most out of the platform.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Economic Insight โ an independent digital publication covering macroeconomic and financial news across Europe and the Americas. The platform aggregates timely reporting, official data releases, and editorial analysis in a single interface designed for clarity and speed.
This guide explains the main features of the site, how our editorial process works, and the policies that govern the use of our content and data. It is intended for all readers: individual subscribers, institutional clients, and visitors browsing without an account.
If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact our support team using the details at the end of this guide.
3. Notices & Updates
The Notices page lists all official announcements from the Economic Insight team. Each notice carries a category tag (Editorial, System, Policy, Service, Update) and a publication date, making it easy to filter visually by type.
Notices are used for:
- Editorial calendars and coverage previews.
- Platform and API changes (including breaking changes to the data schema).
- Policy updates such as corrections, AI disclosure requirements, and content guidelines.
- Scheduled maintenance windows and service advisories.
We recommend checking the Notices page at least once a month if you rely on the API or on scheduled data feeds.
4. Quick Match
Quick Match recommends articles based on the topics you select. The tool is entirely client-side: no personal data is transmitted to our servers, and no account is required.
To use it:
- Open the Match page.
- Click one or more topic chips (for example, Monetary Policy, Macro, Markets).
- The matching articles update instantly below the controls.
- Use the Reset button to clear all selections.
Each chip displays a count of how many articles are currently tagged with that topic. The list of topics is generated automatically from the published archive.
5. Report Center
If you encounter content that is inaccurate, misleading, in breach of copyright, or otherwise inappropriate, please use the Report Center. Reports are reviewed by our editorial team within two business days.
When submitting a report, please include:
- The URL of the article or notice.
- A brief description of the issue, including any supporting sources if available.
- An optional contact email in case we need to follow up.
We treat all reports confidentially. Where a correction is warranted, we publish a visible notice at the top of the affected article and record the correction in our public corrections log.
6. Data & Sources
Editorial content is written by our in-house journalists and analysts. Data referenced in articles and notices is drawn from primary sources, including:
- Central banks: the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, the Bank of England, and other monetary authorities.
- Statistical agencies: the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Eurostat, and national statistics offices.
- Market data: exchange rates and sovereign yields sourced from public market feeds and cross-checked against at least two providers.
- Wire services and partner outlets: Reuters, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times, used for attribution and cross-verification.
Exchange rates shown on the homepage are indicative and refreshed during the trading day. They are provided for reference only and should not be used for settlement, accounting, or trading decisions. For contractual or regulatory purposes, please consult your financial institution.
The Data API exposes the same structured content used by the website. Endpoints are documented in the developer help center. All responses are served over HTTPS and include a versioned schema. Breaking changes are announced on the Notices page at least 30 days in advance.
