Who We Are

Economic Insight is an independent digital publication dedicated to delivering clear, accurate, and timely economic news across Europe and the Americas. Founded in 2020 in New York, we bring together journalists, analysts, data scientists, and editorial technologists who share a single mission: making complex economic developments accessible to everyone โ€” from institutional investors and policymakers to students and everyday readers.

We are headquartered in New York, with editorial bureaus in London, Frankfurt, and Toronto, and a network of contributing correspondents in Brussels, Washington D.C., and Sรฃo Paulo. This transatlantic footprint allows us to cover the world's two largest economic blocs โ€” the United States and the European Union โ€” with the depth and nuance that cross-border financial stories demand.

Our coverage spans monetary policy, macroeconomic indicators, industry trends, financial markets, sovereign debt, trade flows, and emerging technologies shaping the global economy. Whether you are tracking a Federal Reserve decision, an ECB press conference, or a yield curve inversion, Economic Insight delivers context, not just headlines.

We publish roughly 40โ€“50 original articles per week, alongside curated data releases, explainer pieces, and long-form investigations. Every story is written by a human journalist, reviewed by a human editor, and grounded in primary sources โ€” never aggregated blindly from wire services.

Our Mission

We believe that informed citizens and businesses make better decisions. Our mission is to provide reliable economic information free from sensationalism and political bias, empowering our readers to understand the forces shaping their financial lives.

In an era of information overload, speed often trumps accuracy. We reject that trade-off. Every piece we publish is designed to help readers answer three questions: What happened? Why does it matter? What happens next? We do not chase clicks, we do not publish unverified rumors, and we do not blur the line between journalism and advocacy.

Our guiding principles:

  • Accuracy first: Every article is fact-checked against primary sources such as central banks, statistical agencies, and official filings before publication.
  • Clarity over jargon: We explain complex topics in plain language without sacrificing nuance. If a term needs a footnote, we write the footnote.
  • Independence: We are editorially independent and disclose all funding sources and potential conflicts of interest on this page and in every sponsored piece.
  • Transparency: We clearly distinguish between reporting, analysis, and opinion. Corrections are published promptly and prominently, never quietly deleted.
  • Global perspective: Economic decisions in Washington and Frankfurt ripple across continents. We cover both sides of the Atlantic with equal rigor.
  • Reader respect: No autoplay videos, no intrusive pop-ups, no clickbait. Just the news, well organized.

Editorial Standards

Our editorial policies are designed to uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity. All content undergoes review by at least two editors before publication. Corrections are published promptly and prominently. Sponsored content is clearly labeled and never presented as editorial.

We are a member of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and adhere to its code of principles. Our editorial workflow includes:

  • Two-editor review: No article is published without sign-off from both a section editor and a copy editor.
  • Primary-source verification: Central bank statements, GDP releases, CPI reports, and Treasury data are verified against the original issuing body, not secondary summaries.
  • Corrections policy: Factual errors are corrected within 24 hours, with a visible correction notice at the top of the article. Substantive corrections are also noted in our public corrections log.
  • Sponsored content separation: Paid partnerships are labeled "Sponsored" and never appear in the main news feed. They are written by a separate commercial team, not our newsroom.
  • Conflict-of-interest disclosure: Journalists who hold financial positions in companies they cover must disclose them to their editor and recuse themselves from related stories.
  • AI disclosure: Any article that uses AI-assisted drafting or data processing carries a standardized disclosure line at the end. AI is never used to fabricate quotes or sources.

Our Funding

Economic Insight is funded through three primary channels, each designed to preserve editorial independence:

  • Reader subscriptions: Individual and institutional readers pay for access to premium analysis, data dashboards, and the full archive. Subscriptions currently account for roughly 55% of our revenue.
  • Non-disruptive advertising: We accept display advertising from reputable financial brands, always clearly labeled and never placed in a way that obscures editorial content.
  • Data licensing: Institutional clients โ€” including asset managers, research firms, and academic institutions โ€” license our curated economic data feeds through the API available on this site.

We do not accept funding from political parties, governments, or organizations with a direct financial interest in the topics we cover. We do not accept "native advertising" disguised as editorial, and we do not allow advertisers to review articles before publication.

Our annual financial summary โ€” including revenue breakdown, major expenses, and ownership structure โ€” is published each January and linked from this page. If you would like a copy, please contact our editorial team.
